Choosing the right sunglasses for protection?
Q: Where exactly are the nosepads supposed to rest, at the top of the bridge of your nose or middle? How about the frame, is it supposed to touch any part of your face? I have tried some with the frames resting on my cheeks which I'm sure is a bad sign.
A: The straight jacket is not the right frame for you. You'll need to try on other frames like the jawbone. It has more coverage and less leaking. The nosepad needs to rest on the top f your nose bridge not down towards the middle. And the frameshould not touch your face, especially straight jackets. Sounds like you have a lower nose bridge.
Everything you just asked should be answered by the person who fit the sunglasses for you unless you picked them up off the $1 rack. In that case, it's a matter of preference. Everyone wears glasses differently.

UV sunglasses protection question?
Q: Sunglass styles like aviator and wayferers that have lenses which have UV protection protect eyes from light and rays coming from the front but what about rays coming from the sides and top and other exposed areas? Are these styles not as good at protecting eyes from UV rays
A: You are right, wraparound is better. Or at least a baseball cap to shield the top should be worn.
A plastic frame that can fit in close to the eyes will also offer more protection than a metal frame with nosepads that make the frame sit out farther.
UV is also reflected from the bottom when there is snow on the ground

by Edward Turner

Fundamentally, they are used in weakening the glare caused by excessive sunlight and reflection and blocking out harmful UV rays to offer protection for your eyes. Besides that, they serve as an important fashion accessory. Furthermore, it is a good way to hide natural emotions and facial expression to prevent over-exposure to the ubiquitous paparazzi. OK, that last one might only apply to celebrities. But what I am saying is that they can’t be taken only as your old eye...
